I once saw a TikTok explaining how human beings cannot fathom large numbers like 1 billion so there’s no reason for a person to have that much money. And it made me think about the many genocides, mass murders, and deaths this world has faced. People can listen and overhear about the mass murders in Palestine, Sudan, and Congo. I mean anywhere, like Cambodia or the Armenian Genocide. People listen and they’re unfazed but it’s a lot and we’re privileged to not have to deal with that. Slavery is so much worse than what they showed us in school, I think people neglect to do their research. It’s kind of pathetic but I don’t think I was ever radicalized until I watched Cabaret because you don’t think to care enough until it affects you. For me, knowing what I know there are two responses. You realize that the world is messed up and you continue to live life with a negative outlook. Or you realize the world is messed up and you continue to try to at least attempt to make a change because a small step can still mean a lot. I am the latter at times I can be both and at times I could not care at all.
